Jen Hawley’s new single, “Strawberry Moon,” arrives June 28, 2026, bringing poetic storytelling, chill vocals, and a lush acoustic mix of guitar, upright bass, drums, banjo, B3 organ, and bass harmonica. Produced by Matt Williams, the song celebrates warm nights, good company, and the simple joy of gathering under the summer moon.

JEN'S MUSIC
Jen Hawley is a singer-songwriter, music educator and the co-owner of Startsong Studio in Germantown, MD. She and her husband (and business partner) are passionate about instilling curiosity, creativity, confidence and a love for music in each and every student. As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Jen’s songwriting style is an amalgamation of Americana genres (folk, jazz, pop, gospel, bluegrass & blues).
Often performing with her husband, Dave Hawley, Jen aims to bring people closer together through lyrical introspection. "It wasn't until my mid-twenties that I was inspired to write my own music. And the journey of sharing songs began. My hope is that my songs facilitate a connection with our own stories, with those around us, and with our Creator."

Second Place
On April 3, 2025, Jen performed at Strathmore's Music Hall as a 2025 Songwriting Finalist. She performed "Wage War" and "Strawberry Moon" with husband and guitarist, Dave Hawley, and bassist Matt Williams. Competing with incredible songwriters from the DMV area, Jen was honored to recieve second place during the Awards Ceremony. Thank you Cathy Bernard and Stratmore for this amazing opportunity!
